Come to 'Bee Island' and meet the bees. Join us for a discussion on pollinators and what they are up to this time of year. Learn about their unique features which allow them to navigate, forage, and communicate, and see how a hive is designed to accommodate their needs. Can you spot the queen in the observation hive? Learn about her role as the leader of the hive. You may be surprised! Ask our beekeepers questions and gain some insight into the fascinating world of pollinators.

Pre-registration is required. Walk-up registration will not be taken. Register early - seats are limited to 20!

Experience one of the most accessible ways to improve your health and wellness on this 75-minute gentle, guided outdoor walk. Time spent in nature has a myriad of health benefits - from lowering cortisol levels and improving immune function, to supporting mental health and overall well-being. This Noticing Nature walk provides opportunities to reconnect to inner and outer nature through sensory invitations and grounding practices. Tea will be served during the final portion of class as we end our time together and reflect. Wear appropriate walking shoes and dress accordingly for weather conditions.

Join Kim Kulton, Founder of Illinois Bee Rescue, as she shares significant insight into the root cause of declining populations across all pollinator species. Learn how loss of pollen heterogeneity and agricultural intensification practices over the past 50+ years have quietly decimated significant populations of pollinators. Become informed on steps you can take to influence change on how we impact their habitats.

Join Kim Kulton, Founder of Illinois Bee Rescue, to partake and celebrate in the harvest of Lisle Park District's spring honey! Learn how bees gather the nectar and ripen it into honey. Participate in the process of extraction and bottling. Sample a variety of honeys from the surrounding communities. Each participant will receive a 1lb. jar of honey to take home!

Pre-registration is required. Walk-up registration will not be taken. Register early - seats are limited to 24!
