NEW! IN-PERSON OUTDOOR CLASSES
We will begin in-person, outdoor classes on Monday, June 8. Many of these classes will be held on the Sea Lion Aquatic Park pool deck (as the pool will remain closed this summer), and the others will be held at Community Park Bandshell, or the grass area outside the Athletic Space and Recreation Center. Pre-registration is required and registration will be available in 4-week sessions. The Restore Illinois guidelines limit our class size to 10 participants. No drop-ins or one-class registrations will be available for in-person classes at this time. Participants will be 10ft apart during the class, and can remove their masks while exercising. For most of the classes, if inclement weather is expected, the class will be held online. Prior to the start of the session, specific safety procedures will be sent out to all participants.

VIRTUAL CLASSES
Many of the in-person classes will be live streamed on Zoom for those who are not comfortable being in a group class at this time. A Zoom link will be emailed 1-hour before the start of class. You can register for the session or a single class. If you would like to register for the session you will have to register for each week, by adding all 4-weeks to your cart.

HOW TO REGISTER:
All in-person classes will need to be pre-registered for. You can register for virtual classes up to 2-hours before the start of the class. You can register online or over the phone by calling our Recreation & Fitness Manager, Mary Liz Jayne at 630-675-7681. STRENGTH & CARDIO

The Mix

VIRTUAL & OUTDOOR FITNESS CLASS
This all inclusive format will have something for everybody, at all levels of fitness. Each week will be different from the last while incorporating all muscle groups with strength training, including weights and cardio with an emphasis on the core. Come mix it up with us! Any needed equipment will be emailed out before class. Please have a mat or other soft surface for floor exercises.

Body Blast

Cycle Mix

OUTDOOR FITNESS CLASS
Get the best of both worlds! This class will combine our regular Cycling class with upper body strength and abs. Participants will cycle for 30 minutes and maximize results with 15 minutes of effective strength exercises.

Cardio Strength Intervals

Welcome to our newest format, Cardio Strength Intervals! Michele will guide you seamlessly from a cardio interval right into a strength interval to challenge the body to adapt to a new way of transforming your body without the typical rest periods in between exercises. Modifications given so no excuse not to try this one! Recruit a friend to sign up with you and keep each other encouraged to finally get the results you’ve been wanting.

Group Training

OUTDOOR FITNESS CLASS
Group training combines the benefits of one-on-one training with the camaraderie and motivation of working in a group. You will push yourself farther training with others than you ever would on your own. The class combines endurance and strength training using body weight and various types of equipment, including resistance bands, dumbbells, stability balls, and more!

SENIOR FITNESS

Strength & Bone Density

VIRTUAL & OUTDOOR FITNESS CLASS
There is scientific evidence that shows the benefits of weight-bearing exercise on bone density. We reach peak bone density in our twenties and begin to lose it in our thirties. This is especially true without proper exercise, diet and with a family history of osteoporosis. This class takes you through a wide variety of light weight bearing exercises to help you stay strong and healthy. Our instructor Holly Ramsdell is certified in senior fitness and has enjoyed teaching seniors since 2009.

Gentle Yoga (formerly Senior Yoga)

VIRTUAL & OUTDOOR FITNESS CLASS
Sign up to join this very popular yoga class! The benefits of yoga include improved strength, flexibility, and balance. A chair will be used for the first half of the class to perform various yoga poses. The second half of the class will include poses on the floor. Participants using the floor should use a yoga mat. You do not need to participate in the floor exercise to join this class.
