General Teen Programs

The Lisle Park District offers several programs and events for teens.

All teen programs and trips are cooperative programs with the Lisle, Westmont, Downers Grove, Woodridge, Clarendon Hills, Bolingbrook, Darien, and Oakbrook Terrace Park Districts.



Photography for Teens

Darien Park District - 7301 Fairview Ave., Darien
Photography for Teens is a beginners digital photography course where teens will have fun learning about photography and their cameras. Students will learn to take better photos while learning basic composition skills. Age: 13-17.

Fun Teen Trips

Teen Climbing 101

Location: Annerino Community Center • 201 Recreation Drive, Bolingbrook
This class teaches basic knowledge of rock climbing techniques such as three points of contact, footwork, and balance. Knowledge of basic knots, gear and commands, and bouldering will also be reviewed in this class. This class is a great way to learn the basics of becoming an avid climber! Age: 12-15.

Teen Lock-in at Enchanted Castle

Location: Enchanted Castle • 1103 S. Main Street, Lombard
Party all night long with an unlimited pizza and pop buffet, plus $21 in game play and access to unlimited Go-Karts, Laser Tag, Miniature Golf, Bumper Cars, Catapult Ride, Lazer Frenzy Challenge and Hwy. 66 Mini-Bowling! Age: 11-14.

Pool Hop

Location: Sea Lion Aquatic Park • 1825 Short Street, Lisle
Hang with your closest friends for the day at three waterparks. We’ll start the day visiting Sea Lion Aquatic Park where you can experience two body fume slides, two drop slides and a vortex pool. Next, we will trek to Bolingbrook to splash around at Pelican Harbor. Our last stop will be Cypress Cove in Woodridge where you can enjoy three body slides, one tube slide, a 600-foot lazy river, and much more! Age: 12-17.

NOTE: Concessions are available for purchase at each site. Please bring a towel, sunblock, water, and money if you would like to purchase items from concessions. All participants must know how to swim. Pools will swim test upon arrival.

Sea Lion Aquatic Park After Hours

Join Us On Friday, August 16 from 7:00-10:00pm

Location: Sea Lion Aquatic Park - 1825 Ohio Street, Lisle
Get your friends together and meet up at Lisle Park District’s Sea Lion Aquatic Park. We are shutting the doors to the public and keeping it open late just for you! Our DJ will be playing your favorite songs as you swim or hang out poolside with all of your friends. There may even be a contest or two thrown in just for good measure. Grades: 6-9.

Register at your park district today, or you can pay at the door! Residents of Bolingbrook, Downers Grove, Lisle, Westmont and Woodridge Park Districts will receive the resident rate for this event.

Teen Life Coaching: Smashing the 7 "Soft Skills"

Location: Lisle Recreation Center • 1925 Ohio Street, Lisle
Employers consistently state that our youth aren’t prepared for the workplace. Communication and enthusiasm come up as the #1 and #2 missing skills. Developing soft skills like networking, time, management, teamwork, credit scores, problem solving, and professionalism may likely result in our youth surpassing their peers in many areas of life! We will attack these skills in an entertaining age appropriate manner that will keep this special tween/teen age range engaged. This is a drop off class.

Babysitter's Training

Location: ARC • 8201 Janes Ave., Woodridge
The American Red Cross Babysitter’s Training course is fun and fastpaced with hands-on activities, exciting video, role-plays and lively discussions. Chidren ages 11-15 will learn child-care, first aid, leadership and communication skills such as:

  • Supervising children and infants
  • Performing basic child-care skills such as diapering, feeding and dressing
  • Choosing safe, age-appropriate games and toys
  • Handling bedtime and discipline issues
  • Identifying safety hazards and preventing injuries
  • Caring for common injuries such as burns, cuts and bee stings
  • Communicating effectively with parents
  • Finding and interviewing for babysitting jobs

Junior High After Hours

It's the best thing around on a Friday night during the 2018-2019 school year!

Location: Lisle Jr. High School - 5207 Centre Avenue, Lisle

It’s the best thing around on a Friday night. Call all your friends and meet them at Lisle Junior High School to play basketball or dance with the DJ as he plays all of your favorite songs. After Hours is for Jr. High students residing in Lisle.

Students must have an After Hours card to enter. Cards may be purchased at the Lisle Park District Recreation Center, Lisle Junior High School registration or day of at the entrance to After Hours. Students need to purchase a new After Hours card each school year. Grades: 6-8.

After Hours is open to any Jr. High student located in the Lisle Park District Community and is not restricted to Lisle Jr. High students. It is fully supervised by the Lisle Park District. If you have any questions, please contact Mary Liz Jayne at 630-353-4306 or

Teen Service Projects

West Suburban Humane Society

Depart/Return: Lisle Recreation Center - 1925 Ohio Street, Lisle
TRIP LOCATION: West Suburban Humane Society - 1901 Ogden Ave., Downers Grove
The West Suburban Humane Society is a volunteer-based, animal welfare organization that houses up to 25 dogs and 60 cats at a time. This trip will include a tour of the shelter, a volunteer project (TBD) and time to socialize with the animals. Age: 11-16.

NOTE: If you are planning to receive service hours with this trip, please bring any forms that need to be signed. Fee includes transportation.

SCARCE Recycling

Trip Location: Roosevelt Glen Corp. Center • 799 Roosevelt Road, Glen Ellyn
SCARCE, School & Community Assistance for Recycling and Composting Education, is a non-profit with a goal of creating sustainable communities. We will visit their headquarters in Glen Ellyn to sort through shipments of recyclables including books, buttons, crayons, electronics, and more! Cost includes transportation and supervision. Age: 11-17.

If you’re searching for a way to earn some much needed service hours then your search is over. Come spend the morning with other teens for a work-day at the beautiful Lyman Woods Nature Center. Spanning 135 acres and two miles of trails, Lyman Woods connects people with nature and inspires appreciation and stewardship of natural areas through education and recreation. Age: 12-17.

Join us for our annual Family Fun Fest on Friday, July 19 from 6:00-8:30pm! The Community Park Bandshell area will be filled with fun for the whole family and we need your help.

Lisle Teens with Character is a great way to get involved in the community, get service hours, and build a resume.

  • Meet new teens from Lisle and other communities
