General Teen Programs

The Lisle Park District offers several programs and events for teens.

All teen programs and trips are cooperative programs with the Lisle, Westmont, Downers Grove, Woodridge, Clarendon Hills, Bolingbrook, Darien, and Oakbrook Terrace Park Districts.

Photography for Teens

Darien Park District - 7301 Fairview Ave., Darien
Photography for Teens is a beginners digital photography course where teens will have fun learning about photography and their cameras. Students will learn to take better photos while learning basic composition skills. Age: 13-17.

NOTE: A digital camera is required.

Fun Teen Trips

Escape Room

Drop-off / Pick-up: Oakbrook Terrace Park District • 1S325 Ardmore Avenue, Villa Park
It's a race against time as players solve a series of puzzles using clues, hints and strategy to complete the objectives at hand to unveil the secret plot which is hidden within the room. The escape room is in Downers Grove, but will meet at the Oakbrook Terrace Park District where transportation will be provided. Spots are limited due to the room restriction so sign up while they are still available! Age: 12-16.

Top Golf

Depart / Return: Lisle Recreation Center - 1925 Ohio St., Lisle
Top Golf in Naperville is a high tech driving range where you can play a variety of games geared for beginners all the way up to golf pros. The golf balls are microchipped to test your ability to drive the ball far and at specific targets. Golf clubs are provided and food is available for purchase. Fee includes transportation and 2 hours of Top Golf games. Age: 11-16.

Self Defense Programs

Self Defense Seminar

Bolingbrook Recreation & Aquatic Center - 200 Lindsey Lane, Bolingbrook
This workshop is designed to be extremely effective in teaching girls how to protect themselves. The central focus is to create an extremely safe learning environment while ensuring high quality service. All instructors are members of the Bolingbrook Police Department. Training includes practicing in full force self-defense techniques on a padded instructor as well as everyday safety skills which focus on awareness and prevention skills. The workshop emphasizes techniques that can stop an attack without violence. All workshops involve physical practice, role plays, and stories to teach skills. Students should wear athletic clothing and gym shoes. Age: 10-15

Job Prep Programs

Babysitting Skills for Success

Sept: Woodridge Community Center - 2600 Center Drive, Woodridge
Nov: Lisle Recreation Center - 1925 Ohio Street, Lisle
Learn the characteristics of successful babysitting while taking part in discussion and role-playing activities. This class will cover skills such as how to properly handle accidents and emergencies while providing basic first aid care, child development, diapering, feeding and playing with children. CPR is covered although students will not be ‘certified.’ Student handbook and reference materials are included. Students receive a certificate after completing the 8-hour class. Age: 10-15

Note: Please bring a doll and a snack.

Junior High After Hours

It's the best thing around on a Friday night during the 2018-2019 school year!

Location: Lisle Jr. High School - 5207 Centre Avenue, Lisle

It’s the best thing around on a Friday night. Call all your friends and meet them at Lisle Junior High School to play basketball or dance with the DJ as he plays all of your favorite songs. After Hours is for Jr. High students residing in Lisle.

Students must have an After Hours card to enter. Cards may be purchased at the Lisle Park District Recreation Center, Lisle Junior High School registration or day of at the entrance to After Hours. Students need to purchase a new After Hours card each school year. Grades: 6-8.

After Hours is open to any Jr. High student located in the Lisle Park District Community and is not restricted to Lisle Jr. High students. It is fully supervised by the Lisle Park District. If you have any questions, please contact Mary Liz Jayne at 630-353-4306 or

Teen Service Projects

West Suburban Humane Society

Depart/Return: Lisle Recreation Center - 1925 Ohio Street, Lisle
The West Suburban Humane Society is a volunteer-based, animal welfare organization that houses up to 25 dogs and 60 cats at a time. This trip will include a tour of the shelter, a volunteer project (TBD) and time to socialize with the animals. Age: 11-16.

NOTE: If you are planning to receive service hours with this trip, please bring any forms that need to be signed. Fee includes transportation.

The Birches Assisted Living

Drop-off / Pick-up: Birches Assisted Living - 215 55th Street, Clarendon Hills
The Birches provide their residents with the necessary resources to live a physically, mentally, and socially active life, so they can remain healthy, strong, and vibrant at any age. There are many events the facility schedules that provide recreation opportunities for the residents. Participating in volunteering for one of these events allows you to make a difference in the lives of these residents as well as have fun in the process! An additional perk is the community service hours that will be fulfilled in the process! Come out, have a great time and make a difference. Age: 12-17

Scarecrow Scramble Volunteers Needed!

The Scarecrow Scramble is seeking volunteers interested in helping with our annual event held on Saturday, October 13. Volunteer for a couple hours or for the whole event. Volunteers are needed any time between 1:00pm & 9:00pm.
