The Lisle Park District offers several programs and events for teens.

Education Programs

ACT Seminar

Location: Westmont Community Center - 75 E. Richmond Street, Westmont
ACT scores are very important to the college admissions process. They are one of the only ways you can significantly impact your application in a short period of time. In this seminar, we will sort through the many concerns, questions, and uncertainty students may feel. Topics covered will include tips/strategies for taking the test, basics of the admissions process, and test anxiety. Students will leave feeling more confident, organized, prepared, and strategic. Age: 14-18.

ACT Practice Test

Location: Westmont Community Center - 75 E. Richmond Street, Westmont
A practice test is crucial to ward off those test day jitters and to predict how you may score on the ‘real thing.’ Don’t be surprised!! Come and experience first-hand what Test Day will be like. A representative from Kaplan will provide a proctored ACT practice test and results will be returned to each student with analyzed results. Participants are encouraged to bring a healthy snack and drink, #2 pencils and a calculator. Wear comfortable clothing. Cell phones will not be allowed. Age: 14-18.

Babysitting Skills for Success

September Location: Woodridge Community Center - 2600 Center Drive, Woodridge
October Location: Lisle Recreation Center - 1925 Ohio Street, Lisle
Learn the characteristics of successful babysitting while taking part in discussion and role-playing activities. This class will cover skills such as how to properly handle accidents and emergencies while providing basic first aid care, child development, diapering, feeding and playing with children. CPR is covered although students will not be ‘certified.’ Student handbook and reference materials are included. Students receive a certificate after completing the eight hour class. Please bring a doll and a snack. Age: 10-15.

Fun Trip Programs

Glow in the Dark Mini Golf

Depart / Return: Oakbrook Terrace Park District - 1S325 Ardmore Avenue Villa Park
Teens can enjoy a great game of mini golf in the dark! Join us as we head to Putters Edge for glow in the dark mini golf. All teens should bring a white t-shirt that will be colored with highlighter to make the glow in the dark experience even more fun! This is a cooperative trip with Westmont, Lisle, Clarendon Hills, Woodridge, Bolingbrook, Oakbrook Terrace and Darien Park Districts. Age: 12-16.

Six Flags Great America

Depart / Return: Bolingbrook Park District, 200 S. Lindsey Lane
Come join us on a trip to the most exciting amusement park and fright fest in the northern suburbs. Six Flags will change the look of their park by creating a spooky atmosphere, special lighting and sound effects, haunted houses and walkthroughs, mysterious shows, and scary street actors. Check out the new roller coaster Goliath or ride one of Great America’s all-time favorites like Superman, Raging Bull or the Viper. Cost includes transportation and ticket. Lunch and dinner are on your own. Age: 12-17.

Indoor Skydiving at iFLY

Depart/Return: Lisle Recreation Center - 1925 Ohio Street, Lisle
Have you ever wanted to experience skydiving, while staying safely on the ground? Now is your chance to fly on Thanksgiving break! Experience the feeling of freefall as you float on a smooth cushion of air. Each participant will get 2 times in the stimulator and a video of their experience to take home. We will stop for lunch on the way home, please bring money for lunch. Waiver needs to be signed, details will be sent to participants. Age: 11-16.

Junior High After Hours

It's the best thing around on a Friday night!

Location: Lisle Jr. High School - 5207 Centre Avenue, Lisle


Call all your friends and meet them at the Lisle Jr. High School to play basketball or dance with the DJ as he plays all of your favorite songs. After Hours is for Jr. High students residing in the Lisle Park District. Students must have an After Hours card to enter. Cards may be purchased at the Lisle Park District Community Center, Lisle Jr. High School Registration or at the entrance to After Hours. Students need to purchase a new After Hours card each school year. Grades: 6-8.

After Hours is open to any Jr. High student located in the Lisle Park District Community and is not restricted to Lisle Jr. High students. It is fully supervised by the Lisle Park District. If you have any questions, please contact Mary Liz Jayne at 630-353-4306 or mljayne@lisleparkdistrict.org.

Ski & Snowboarding Trips

Villa Olivia Snow Tubing Trip

Depart / Return: Woodridge Community Center - 2600 Center Drive, Woodridge
It’s time to pursue snow-filled fun on the 800 foot long slope at Villa Olivia in Bartlett, IL. Once at the bottom take a newly renovated conveyor lift back up the hill so you can enjoy run after run with your friends. We will stop for lunch at Portillos on our way to Villa Olivia. Please bring extra money as lunch is on your own. Cost includes transportation, tube rental and lift. A waiver must be signed the day of the trip and will be available at the Recreation Center. Please bring additional money for lunch and locker if needed. Trip Location: Villa Olivia, Bartlett, IL. Age: 12-17.

NEW! Alpine Valley Ski / Snowboard Trip

Depart / Return: Westmont Community Center - 75 E. Richmond Street, Westmont
Spend the day off school skiing or snowboarding at Alpine Valley Ski Resort. This popular, well-groomed hill offers plenty of diverse terrain for the beginner to the expert, and also a full-featured terrain park. Trip includes transportation, lift-ticket, lesson and optional ski or snowboard rental if purchased. A signed waiver must be completed and turned in the day of the trip. Waivers are available in person or on the Teen page of dgparks.org. Please bring additional money for lunch and locker if needed. Trip Location: East Troy, Wisconsin. Age: 11-16.

Teen Service Projects

West DuPage Humane Society

Depart/Return: Lisle Recreation Center - 1925 Ohio Street, Lisle
The West DuPage Humane Society is a volunteer-based, animal welfare organization that houses up to 25 dogs and 60 cats at a time. This trip will include a tour of the shelter, a volunteer project (TBD) and time to socialize with the animals. If you are planning to receive service hours with this trip, please bring any forms that need to be signed. Fee includes transportation. Age: 12-17.

Lisle Teens With Character

Sign Up To Become A Member Today!

Lisle Teens with Character (LTWC) is a teen led group that is a community leader in volunteerism and philanthropy. The program is for students in grades 6 – 12 who reside in DuPage County who are looking to make a difference and build character. LTWC provides the opportunity to socialize with your peers, meet new people, and have a fun time at our monthly meetings and service projects.
