Lisle-Woodridge Fire Fighters Union's 28th Annual Youth / Adult Fishing Derby

The Lisle-Woodridge Fire Fighters Union is pleased to announce their 29th Annual Youth / Adult Fishing Derby. Prizes will be awarded every hour of fishing for the largest catch in each of the six fish game categories. At the conclusion of the derby, awards will be presented for the overall largest catch in each category. Only youths are eligible for prizes and awards. All children must have adult supervision.

You are encouraged to pre-register at the Lisle Park District. All youths pre-registered by Saturday, May 13 are guaranteed an official derby t-shirt. Additional t-shirts may be available for those registering after the deadline or on derby day. Registration will be taken on May 27 from 6:00-6:45am.

Live bait (worms) will be sold at the derby, as well as food, snacks, and hot and cold beverages. Participants and their families will be eligible for raffle prizes throughout the event.

2015 Annual Memorial Day Parade, Ceremony & Free Community Picnic

The Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States (VFW) Ross Bishop Memorial Post #5696 presents the Village of Lisle Memorial Day Annual Parade, Remembrance Ceremony & Community Picnic on Monday, May 29, 2017 at 11:00am.

11th Annual Parade

The Memorial Day parade will begin at 11:00am at Lisle Junior High School, 5211 Center Ave, Lisle. It will proceed down Main Street and will end at the Lisle Veterans Memorial, 4721 Center Avenue, Lisle.

If you are participating in the parade, please arrive at the Lisle Junior High no later than 10:45am to receive your spot and line up.

Spectators are invited to walk in the parade. Any and all vets are welcome to participate.

Ceremony begins at approximately 11:30am at the Lisle Veterans Memorial, 4721 Center Avenue, Lisle. In the event of inclement weather, please proceed directly to the Lisle Cemetery, 979 Ogden Avenue, Lisle.

Community Picnic at The Museums of Lisle Station Park:

Come for the parade and ceremony, stay for the picnic! Picnic will begin after the Ross Bishop VFW Post #5696 Ceremony. It will be held on the grounds of The Museums at Lisle Station Park, 921 School Street, Lisle. Admission is free!

Picnic presented by the event committee, parade and picnic sponsors.


The commuter parking lot has been designated as the pick-up area for participants after the parade, and for event parking. There will be extra handicap parking available at the Bank of America on Center and the Lisle Village Hall.

Put your engineering hats on...and your bathing suit too! The Cardboard Boat Regatta is a hilarious special event allowing participants to show off their boat-building skills. Join us at Sea Lion Aquatic Park for a morning of comical fun by testing the waters in your cardboard boat. Compete against other teams or come out to watch the entertainment! All Ages Welcome!

Prizes will be awarded for: Pride of the Regatta (most spectacular boat entry); Best Dressed (most creative team costumes); Team Spirit (most spirited team); 1st Place Race Winners; Titanic Award (most valiant effort to keep boat afloat while sinking); Battleship Winner.

Community Park Campout

Join us at the Community Park South Shelter* for our 3rd Annual Community Park Campout!

*The South Shelter is located off Short Street just west of the Lisle Police Department adjacent to the pond.

Camping, Nature Walk, S'mores, Games, Crafts, Stargazing...A Night of Family Fun! Grab your camping gear and get ready for an evening under the stars in Community Park! This overnight campout will be a night of family fun!

Please Note: All children must be accompanied by an adult. (No more than 3 children per each adult). Tents and other camping gear will NOT be provided. All ages are welcome!
