Lisle's Largest Free Paper Shred Event

SATURDAY, JUNE 5 from 9:00am - Noon
Lisle High School Parking Lot - 1800 Short Street, Lisle
***Face Covering Required***


The Lisle Park District will host our annual Shred Event Residents can drive-up and drop off documents while an on-site industrial shredder destroys the documents into high-security confetti-size pieces. Event staff will help remove the bags from your vehicles and load them into the shredding truck where they will be destroyed. All shredded material is recycled and you save 17 trees for every ton of paper recycled.


PLEASE NOTE: Limit of 5 Paper Bags Per Car, No Exceptions. Please bring your paper items ONLY in brown paper bags. Absolutely NO cardboard boxes or plastic bags will be accepted for shredding.



SHREDDER WILL ACCEPT:

  • Documents with Paper Clips
  • Staples or Binder Clips
  • Junk Mail
  • Envelopes
  • Cancelled Checks

SHREDDER WILL NOT ACCEPT:

  • Plastic
  • Binders
  • Cardboard
  • Other Non-Paper Items

Father's Day Weekend Fishing Tournament

JUNE 18 - JUNE 20

DERBY RULES

  • Fish anywhere, ensuring state laws are adhered to.
  • Catch largemouth bass, crappie, catfish or trout anywhere between 5:00am on Friday, June 18 and 5:00pm on Sunday, June 20.
  • Submit a photo via email to ewise@lisleparkdistrict.org of the fish next to a standard measuring device (ruler, tape measure, or yardstick). Please provide proof of date (cell phone home screen, smart watch, etc.), as well as what body of water you caught the fish in. All photos must be submitted by 5:00pm on Wednesday, June 23.
  • The longest fish in each category/age group wins! Prizes will be awarded to each winner.

Family Picnic in the Park

It’s time to close out the summer with one last family picnic in the park! Make some memories together by playing some classic outdoor games, make a craft and explore the park on a nature scavenger hunt with prizes for all! A picnic style dinner (hot dogs, chips and a drink) will be provided and a really tasty dessert too. You bring your picnic blankets, and we will do the rest!
