Group Training Classes

Group Training

Location: Lisle Recreation Center, Athletic Space - 1925 Ohio Street, Lisle
Group training combines the benefits of one-on-one training with the camaraderie and motivation of working in a group. You will push yourself farther training with others than you ever would on your own. The class combines endurance and strength training using body weight and various types of equipment, including resistance bands, dumbbells, stability balls, TRX suspension trainer and more! This class will be taught by John Mizoguchi, NPTI, NASM, certified personal trainer. Age: 16 & up.

Tabata Training

Location: Lisle Recreation Center, Athletic Space • 1925 Ohio Street, Lisle
Tabata training is new type of high intensity interval training designed to get your heart rate up in that anaerobic zone for short periods of time. The reason? This type of workout helps you burn more calories both during and after your workouts. Tabata training follows a specific format of 20-seconds on, 10-seconds off, in 4-minute increments, after which a longer rest period is provided. Although this is a high intensity format, modifications are made for those just looking for something different! This is a fun and different approach to exercise and the time will fly by. Strength Training With Abs

This strength training class is designed to increase your metabolism and help with muscle endurance by lifting weights. This intense but easy to follow class will give you a total body workout. Endurance Classes

NEW! Move It!

Location: Lisle Recreation Center Athletic Space - 1925 Ohio Street, Lisle
Join us for this one-of-a-kind class to cross train your body by combining multiple modalities at once, without the use of weights or equipment. Only your body weight will be used to execute moves of mobility, flexibility, strength, and cardio. You can expect a challenging, but doable format for most levels of fitness, as modifications will be given for those looking for something a little lighter. Instructor: Michele. Age: 16 & up.

NOTE: Getting up and down from the floor will be required. Space will be limited with this class, so register early to reserve your spot, and get ready to MOVE IT!

Nutrition Counseling with Michele Majeski

As a student of nutrition, both formal and informal education over the last 17 years, Michele councils and assists individuals in adopting a lifestyle that is proven to prevent a variety of health problems. Instruction for this class will include asana and vinyasa posture sequences in which relaxation/meditation techniques are introduced as an integral part of yoga philosophy and practice. Tai Chi

Tai Chi Exercise is a Chinese ancient exercise art for health. It is a holistic exercise that can improve energy and balance. Tai Chi exercise improves health by increasing muscle strength/endurance, improving flexibility / coordination / balance, relaxing mind / body, reducing anxiety / stress, and improving circulation / breathing / digestion. For both mind and body, there is nothing like this gentle, relaxed, graceful, holistic exercise art. Instructor is Dr. Xiaoping Xu. She is a master of Tai Chi, having over 20 years of experience teaching Tai Chi to over thousands of people in China, Japan and the USA. Dr. Xu is also a MD and PhD specializing in Acupuncture/Integrative holistic medicine. This is a cooperative program with the Woodridge Park District. Instructor: Dr. Xiaoping Xu. Age: 16 & up.
